Timmy Taussig
Vermont native, Timmy moved out west to Washington where he enjoys all that the northwest has to offer - snowboarding, surfing, hiking, the list goes on. On top of all that, he's a Wilderness First Responder Instructor. If you haven't picked up on the fact that Timmy lives to be outside, we're sure you will after reading more about him.
Where is your hometown?
Stowe, Vermont
Where do you currently reside?
Belligham, Washington
What are your favorite ways to spend time outside?
I love to snowboard, surf, hike, bike, sail, and truly anything that brings together family and friends in the outdoors.
What is your most beloved piece of Turtle Fur gear?
The turtle fur neck warmer because I love the way it feels on my neck and face during those cold winter days. When I put on my neck warmer it makes me feel protected, warm, and cozy even during the harshest days on the mountain.
What Turtle Fur product comes with you on every adventure, and why?
My first turtle fur neck warmer because it was the first piece of winter gear I ever owned and have had some of the most epic pow days wearing it (you could say it’s my good luck charm)!
What is your most cherished outdoor memory?
This is a tough question but I have to say it would was snowboarding during this one week in March at Mt. Baker. We got ten feet of snow in ten days. It was some of the best times I have ever had on a snowboard. Can't beat snowboarding in knee-high to chest-high powder every day!
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be, and why?
I would either go back to Japan because both the food and snowboarding are insane, or I would head to the Dolomites in Italy because I love pizza and the mountains look so beautiful.
What is your day job?
Wilderness First Responder Instructor for Backcountry Medical Guides
What personal accomplishment are you most proud of?
Getting on the cover of this year’s first issue of The Snowboards Journal #17.1
Two truths and a lie:
I have three sisters
I put maple syrup in my coffee every morning
I’m allergic to peanuts
