Designer, Headwear and Accessories


We are looking to hire a well-organized, creative, and enthusiastic designer to join our team. This individual will be responsible for assisting the team with the technical aspects of designing and developing products within existing and future product lines and creating original designs. The Designer will collaborate in all phases of the design process, from initial concepts to production. This person will have a creative approach, experience in and knowledge of design methodology, construction, and manufacturing.

This is a hybrid remote position based in Vermont and employees will be onsite for the orientation period and for ongoing projects that require in person collaboration.  This role can expect to be in the office at a minimum 2 days a week.

About the Job:

  • Create original designs and modify existing product
  • Design knit and constructed headwear
  • Research trends, patterns, prints, colors, and silhouettes each season
  • Research new materials, manufacturing technologies, and design methodologies
  • Contribute to the development of seasonal designs, colors, and concepts across all divisions
  • Demonstrate an ability to analyze and positively critique designs during project reviews 
  • Maintain an awareness of the competitive environment and how to improve product assets by including new technologies, market trends, materials, construction, details, fit and overall quality
  • Be knowledgeable of global material sourcing including fabrics, trims and other manufacturing aspects
  • Contribute to help building out design tools for presentations, internally and externally
  • Review prototypes and advise improvements
  • Work with design team in executing tech packs
  • Think both analytically and creatively with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure information flow is accurate throughout the development process

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in design, apparel, art, or relevant work experience
  • 4+ years of working experience
  • Excellent Photoshop and Illustrator skills
  • Experience with PLM 
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and projects and complete them within deadlines
  • Highly creative
  • Flexibility to work in many different styles (hand-drawn to digital)
  • Ability to take direction and work in a team environment with timeliness and professionalism
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure
