Sponsoring the Stowe Mountain Bike Club

Turtle Fur is thrilled to announce our sponsorship of the Stowe Mountain Bike Club (SMBC) for the 2017 season and beyond!

Turtle Fur calls Stowe its original home, as it was the place our first ever fleece neck warmer and (Turtle Fur as a company was born. We certainly all enjoy the biking and hiking trails there and find ourselves on them almost daily.

Beyond hitting the trails and having a ton of fun whizzing over the mountains and through the woods together, the members of the Stowe Mountain Bike Club help keep the trails alive, open and safe for everyone to use.

At 700 members strong, the Stowe Mountain Bike Club accounts for over 25% of the Vermont Mountain Biking Association's memberships. SMBC members and volunteers logged over 500 hours of trail maintenance and service hours in 2016 alone.

Along with all of our fellow sponsors, Turtle Fur's support ensures SMBC's ability to sustainably manage and maintain Stowe, Vermont's public trail network.

About the Stowe Mountain Biking Club

While based in Stowe, Vermont, SMBC membership spans 80 different towns across 11 states and two Canadian provinces. This past season SMBC’s prime organizational focus was twofold: strategic trail maintenance, and long-term strategic trail planning. We’re working with State and local agencies to build new trails, create a more cohesive trail network, and continue evolving this world class recreational resource. As a chapter of VMBA, SMBC is part of an advocacy initiative aimed at increasing trail access state-wide. The Town of Stowe & SMBC hired Sustainable Trailworks to help manage, maintain and improve Stowe’s world class trail network.
